Electronic Highway Vignette

Electronic motorway vignette

From 01/01/2021, the State Transport Infrastructure Fund, in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport, launched a system of electronic motorway vignettes.

If you want to use highways and some expressways in the Czech Republic, you need a vignette. An e-vignette has been in force in the Czech Republic since 2021. You no longer need to stick a sticker on the windshield, but conveniently register your license plate online.

The winieta-online.pl website will take care of the registration of your registration number for you. Registering a license plate only takes a few minutes. As an independent service provider, we will immediately register your registration number in the Czech toll system

Online registration is sufficient and e-vignettes are valid immediately upon application!

Why was the electronic highway vignette designed?

The system of purchasing and using motorway vignettes for citizens of the Czech Republic and foreign drivers has been significantly simplified. The electronic vignette can be purchased in the online store.

Data security

When purchasing vignettes on our website www.{DOMAIN} all data is encrypted with an SSL certificate and secured by an internal personal data protection policy.
Your entered card data is encrypted on an ongoing basis. We also do not use your personal data for marketing purposes.

Why is it worth it?

When ordering vignettes for the Czech Republic on www.{DOMAIN}, you can be sure that your order will be verified and correctly completed in accordance with the current completion time (15 min - 3h). After purchasing a vignette, you will receive official confirmation in the form of an e-mail and SMS notification. By purchasing Czech vignettes (CZ) before departure, you avoid problems on the way (no point of sale on the route, no internet connection), you can complete your order in peace and quiet and minimize the risk of error. You can only enter the motorway in the Czech Republic after receiving confirmation of electronic registration by e-mail or SMS.

For which vehicles does the vignette obligation apply?

Vehicles in these categories, with a maximum permissible laden weight of 3.5 tonnes, are subject to the obligation to pay a vignette:
  • Motor vehicles with four or more wheels intended for the carriage of passengers
  • Motor vehicles with four or more wheels intended for the transport of goods
  • Off-road vehicles.
  • Vehicles with a trailer with a combined total weight of more than 3.5 tonnes (vehicle combinations) require an additional vignette for a trailer in the same category. Vehicle combinations with a total weight of less than 3.5 tonnes only require a vignette for the towing vehicle.

Do I need an e-vignette for my motobike?

Vehicles with less than 4 wheels do not require a vignette.

Do I need a separate e-vignette for my trailer?

Vehicles with a trailer with a combined total weight of more than 3.5 tonnes (vehicle combination) require an additional vignette for a trailer in the same category. Vehicle combinations with a total weight of less than 3.5 tonnes only require a vignette for the towing vehicle.

How is the e-vignette checked?

The vehicle registration number is stored in the electronic toll collection system. In the event of an inspection, the system checks that the vehicle's registration plates are registered in the digital toll collection system. All control bodies are equipped with special control devices, so that the verification of the e-vignette is possible at any time.

Do I still need to stick the paper vignette to the glass?

No, the e-vignette is completely digital. We register the license plate number in the digital toll collection system. After registering your license plate in the toll system, you can use toll roads in Slovakia. You no longer need to stick a paper vignette on the windshield of your car.
